New Feature Alert: Server-Side Event Handlers
Server-side event handlers give ABL developers a powerful new way to handle user interface events directly on the Progress Application Server using ABL code. A single handler can process events across multiple application types – including Angular web, .NET desktop applications, and mobile solutions.
These server-side handlers work seamlessly along-side client-side event handling, giving you complete flexibility to decide where each event is best processed for a given task.
Just like client-side handlers, they can manipulate the UI, interact with users, and control frontend components – but with the added advantage of running on the server.
A major benefit is how much simpler frontend logic becomes to test. By moving event handling to the server, you can unit test your frontend behavior without relying on complex and costly UI testing suites.
If you haven’t checked our server-side event handlers yet, what are you waiting for?
